Empowering the Next Generation: MTU Enterprise Camp 2026 Expands to Cork and Kerry

The Hincks Centre for Entrepreneurship Excellence at MTU is delighted to announce the return of the MTU Enterprise Camp for 2026. This year, we are growing and opening our doors to secondary schools across both Cork and Co. Kerry.

Following the resounding success of our 2025 program, the MTU Enterprise Camp returns this autumn to the vibrant MTU Bishopstown Campus. This free, one-day immersive experience is designed for students in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th year, offering them a unique "first-hand" look at university life while sparking their passion for innovation and social enterprise.

 

Innovation with a Purpose: The Triple Bottom Line

Our camp isn't just about business; it’s about the Triple Bottom Line. We teach young entrepreneurs that success is measured by more than just profit. By focusing on the Three Ps—People, Planet, and Profit—participants learn how to build ventures that are economically viable, socially responsible, and environmentally sustainable.

Through interactive workshops, students will explore:

• The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Integrating global impact into business ideas.
• High-Impact Storytelling: Mastering the art of the pitch and presentation.
• Complex Problem-Solving: Navigating real-world challenges through design and creativity.

 

What to Expect

Each participating school will spend one full day (10:00 – 15:00) on campus. Students will engage in high-energy activities, collaborate with peers, and experience the MTU atmosphere, including lunch provided in the main student canteen.

Teachers remain a vital part of the experience, attending alongside their students to support their teams and network with fellow educators focused on fostering an entrepreneurial spirit in the classroom.

 

Key Details for 2026

Event Dates: Schools can choose one of the following seven dates to attend:

September: 28th, 29th, 30th

October: 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th

Location: MTU Bishopstown Campus, Cork

Eligibility: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th-year students from Cork City, Cork County, and Co. Kerry.

Capacity: Due to limited onsite capacity, each teacher can bring a maximum of 15 students per school.

 

How to Register

Places for the MTU Enterprise Camp are highly sought after and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration Deadline: June 26th, 2026

Cost: Free of charge (includes lunch and refreshments for all)
