Encouraging Social Entrepreneurship

Can you teach people to become better at social entrepreneurship and increase their chances of success?

As part of Munster Technological University’s Innovation & Enterprise Month 2022, Hincks Centre for Entrepreneurship Excellence has invited Prof. Florian Hoos to discuss his teaching experience and research findings regarding the efficacy of a major social entrepreneurship training programme in France. His research provides unique insight into specifically how people can be trained to become better at social entrepreneurship. He will address such questions as, which types of social entrepreneurship training work and which don’t. 

Prof. Florian Hoos is an Affiliate Professor in Accounting and Management Control from HEC Paris, the world’s leading business school. His experience is “a true hybrid between academia and practice” and he is an experienced Professor, Managing Director, Consultant and Coach with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education and start-up industry. He is also an Academic Director for customised executive training programs with leading international corporations.

Florian teaches accounting and control, sustainable business model development, impact assessment, change management, responsible leadership, social entrepreneurship, value measurement, radical collaboration, negotiation, and has created Massive Open Online Courses in entrepreneurship and change-making for the Coursera Platform and in HEC's online Masters.

Florian is also an active researcher in corporate governance and ethical decision making, management control and performance measurement, accounting and entrepreneurship pedagogy, (social) entrepreneurship and innovation, and impact assessment.
