Primary and secondary level stands on Innovation day

Scoil Eoin Sharks exhibited their idea at a stand as part of CIT Innovation Day amongst second and third level innovative students.  The group of boys from Scoil Eoin primary school in Ballincollig have just won the Irish and UK national championships in the VEXIQ competition.
Scoil Eoin, Ballincollig, overall winners of the VEX IQ national competition hosted by CIT were afforded the opportunity to enter the VEX IQ Challenge UK National Championships. There were twenty teams competing in the UK competition and the team from Scoil Eoin swept the boards. Winning four awards: Programming champions, Drivers skills champions, Design award and Overall tournament champions.
Ainé’s Scrunchies
Ainé O Neill from St Angela’s college exhibited her business, Ainé’s Scrunchies at innovation day.  Ainé attended CIT’s annual enterprise camp that takes place each August on the CIT campus and has developed her business since attending the week long series of entrepreneurial activities.  The scrunchies on display impressed all visitors on the day and she sold out all of her stock.
REALationships
A transition year group from St Angela’s college exhibited their Young Social Innovators project at their stand.  Their REALationships project is based around promoting healthy relationships in our society.  The aim of the project is to make people aware of what is healthy in all types of relationships.
