CIT selected to host International Conference on Entrepreneurship Education in 2017
24 September, 2015
Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) has been successful in its bid to host the 3E Conference - ECSB Entrepreneurship Education Conference - in May 2017. Previous venues have included Aarhus University in Denmark and the 2016 conference will be hosted by the University of Leeds.
Organised by the Hincks Centre for Entrepreneurship Excellence at CIT the conference will attract researchers and educators from around the world. The event will offer an exclusive, and engaging, opportunity for participants to debate and exchange their experiences of the major challenges and advances in enterprise education. Pursuing the conference theme of ‘Building for the Future - Entrepreneurship Education, Training and Policy’, the conference will focus on problems and questions rather than on ready-made solutions through a unique and innovative format, with an award for the best question posed.
Prof. Helle Neergaard, President of ECSB is proud that ECSB is taking the 3E Conference to Ireland. “Universities across Europe are queing up to host the 3E Conference, which shows its popularity among entrepreneruship educators. Our Irish friends have previously delivered outstanding international conferences in entrepreneurship so I have no doubt that this conference will also be a great success. Ireland has so much to contribute in terms of knowledge and expertise in the area of entrepreneurship education and I sincerely hope that educators and trainers, universities and institutions, across Ireland will support CIT in its efforts to put together an attractive programme for 3E. The 3E Conference really makes a difference to those who attend and we have members who wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
According to Dr Breda Kenny Head, Hincks Centre and 2017 3e Conference Chair, “as the premier European research conference in the field of entrepreneurship education, the 3E conference will significantly enhance the scientific, as well as the practical, scope for entrepreneurship education researchers from tertiary and secondary institutions, as well as for trainers and policy makers. Entrepreneurship education is critical for developing entrepreneurial skills, attitudes and behaviours that are the basis for economic growth and recovery and this conference brings the impact of entrepreneurship education to the forefront.”
