Programme for Senior Entrepreneurship Takes Shape in Vienna Project Meeting

Programme for Senior Entrepreneurship Takes Shape in Vienna Project Meeting

17 December, 2015

The fourth transnational meeting of the MyBusiness project, of which the Cork Institute of Technology is one of the main partners, took place on 18-19 December in Vienna, Austria. Isabel Rossiter, from the Hincks Centre for Entrepreneurship Excellence, attended the event on behalf of CIT.
At the meeting, Ms. Rossiter presented the proposed aims, timeline and unit content of the Senior Entrepreneurship Action Programme (SEAP), whose elaboration is the main objective of the project. The SEAP aims to be a tailor-made programme focused on unemployed seniors interested in becoming self-employed or entrepreneur, on the basis on their own identified needs and barriers, strengthening their entrepreneurial skills and competences while taking advantage of their experience.
The pilot courses of this programme will take place in Ireland, Greece and Austria over the next few months, with the results being presented at the project Final Meeting, which will be held at the beginning of July 2016 in Brussels (Belgium).
The project “Empowering entrepreneurial skills and unleashing potential of older unemployed - MYBUSINESS” is financed by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Programme and its main objective is to increase the managerial and entrepreneurial skills of senior unemployed, giving them confidence and providing them with the tools to create their own business and  to promote  lifelong learning and employability.
Other issues discussed in Vienna included communication and dissemination matters (project image, website, brochures, newsletters), internal monitoring, progress reports, budget, schedule, etc.
This was the fourth and last MyBusiness transnational meeting, after the first three being celebrated in Romania, Greece and Ireland.
All partners will host an event associated with the project to showcase the learnings and achievements from the collaborative project.
