NFTE programme, entrepreneurship development in disadvantaged communities

There was strong support from CIT, including the Hincks Centre, at the launch of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) programme on Monday 11th June 2018.This innovative world recognised programme is managed and provided by Foroige in Ireland, the programme aims to develop business skills and talents of young people among disadvantaged communities.

During the programme, the students study aspects of starting a business, receive a seed grant to start their business, engage with entrepreneurs, visit local and national companies, work with business corporate mentors, sell their products at the NFTE Class Trade Fair and present their business plan.

The winner of the Cork Regional NFTE award introduced An Tanaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Simon Coveney T.D who launched the NFTE programme at the offices of the Republic of Works in Cork. Students displayed their products and services explaining their business ideas to the large audience.
