This year’s Women’s Rural Entrepreneurial Network (WREN) programme ended with a final Showcase in Croom Enterprise Centre (Co. Limerick). Students of the class of 2017-2018 presented their new business ideas to the large group of friends, family, local businesses and potential students for next year’s programme.

Following an ‘elevator’ pitch from each of the WREN participants on their business, speakers at the event included Aidan O’Brien, from EU Funding, sponsors of the WREN programme in Croom and SECAD Midleton (Co. Cork), Aiden Gleeson, Chair of Ballyhoura Development, Catherine Smith Manager of Ballyhoura, Helen McGuirk, Head of Hincks and Paul Healy, Manager of CIT’s Rubicon. 

Finally, Eileen O’Keeffe, Project Manager presented details of next year’s programme beginning September 2018 (see link below).

This CIT accredited programme has modules including business planning & viability, finance and funding and personal development modules. Along with one to one, group mentoring and classroom based modules the participants will also receive advice from organisations and agencies that provide support to start up enterprises and from female role models.

The deadline for the registration is on the 12th of July and people can submit their application at Ballimoura Development CLG‘s
