Edurne Romano from Hincks Centre for Entrepreneurship Excellence went on a fieldtrip to Blackrock castle on Thursday, 12th of July with the Foroige Biz Camp students. 

The Biz Camps are summer camps launched by Foroige that embrace entrepreneurial activities for students from DEIS schools. Here in Cork, these camps took place over two consecutive weeks; first camp was from July 3rd to July 5th at St Joseph’s Community Centre and the second camp was from July 9th to July 13th at the Old Girls National School, Togher. 

The Hincks Centre was delighted to take up on Angela O’Connell’s call and help her on the fieldtrip that the Togher group had to Blackrock Castle Observatory on the 12th of July.

The visit to the Observatory, led by Claire McSweenie, started with a quick session “The Sky is Never the Limit”. This was about Claire's own background and it gave the students the message that there is a lesson to be learnt from every experience that we have - whether good or bad. A visit to the Castle and the Observatory made a perfect ending to the fieldtrip.
