ERSA 58th Congress Held in Cork

ERSA 58th Congress Held in Cork

28 August, 2018

The largest ever academic gathering in Cork was held at UCC in August.  The European Regional Science Association (ERSA) annual international conference welcomed over 800 delegates from across the world to present their research related to the conference theme: Places for people: Innovative, Inclusive and Liveable Regions.

Helen McGuirk from the Hincks Centre was part of the local organising committee led by Dr Declan Jordan from the Department of Economics at UCC.  Helen led the technical excursion to the Cork Docklands (the starting point of the Cool Route) where Cork City Council welcomed a large group of international academics and policy makers to the area.

CIT was well represented at the conference; Research was presented by Dr John Hobbs, Dr Aisling Conway-Lenihan and Dr Wei Xiong from the Department of Management and Enterprise, and Dr Helen McGuirk of the Hincks Centre.
