Start In Erasmus+ Project Meeting in Finland
08 October, 2018
The Hincks Centre attended the third Start In partner meeting at the university city of Jyvaskyla in central Finland. Thank you to Piia and Paulina for hosting a very productive and hectic three-day schedule of cooperation for innovation workshops and the exchange of good practices.
Partners from Spain, Poland, Greece, Turkey and the UK participated in discussions to develop a curriculum to train primary and second level teachers in inclusive and innovative entrepreneurship education.
The group also visited the innovative Team Academy at JAMK (University of Applied Science) where undergraduates develop their knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship and value creation through practice and learning-by-doing. The centre, established 25 years ago, accommodates up to 70 undergraduate business students from 2nd to 4th year.
The Finnish Start In partners also organised a visit to an entrepreneurship themed primary/secondary school where we met teachers (the project’s target users) and members of the Finnish National Expert Commission. What an amazing example of Finland’s new core curriculum (2016) which promotes transversal competences across subjects to enable a reform of school culture and school pedagogy which will improve the quality of the learning process and enhance learning outcomes.
The next Start In meeting will be in Greece in February 2019, where partners will pilot the innovative curriculum.
