The ambitious 3 year project, led by Dr Breda Kenny with the CIT team - Gerard O'Donovan, John McAleer, Isabel Rossiter, Rebecca Robinson, Aisling ConwayLenihan and Helen McGuirk, developed a sailing route along the North West Coast of Europe. The route starts in Cork harbour, sails along the magnificent south and west coasts of Ireland to Northern Ireland, Scotland, the Faroe Islands and ends in Northern Norway.
The Cool Route
Cruising Oceans On Latitudes above 51 degrees North – the COOL route, co-financed by Interreg, involved research of the logistical, business and marketing plan for the route with the ultimate aim of offering support to compliment maritime and shore based tourism initiatives and SMEs in all of the regions along the route.
