SmARtEST Pilot Programme Kicks Off

SmARtEST Pilot Programme Kicks Off

20 May, 2019

Researchers on the Rísám SmARtEST Project are delighted to announce that, in partnership with the CETB, an Entrepreneurial Skills Training programme that meets the needs of older people has commenced in Carrigaline. The acronym SmARtEST stands for Smart Ageing and Renewal through Entrepreneurial Skills Training.

This pilot training programme will adapt and test the training materials that were originally developed in CIT's Hincks Centre for Entrepreneurship Excellence as part of an Erasmus+ European Commission funded project. The research project SmARtEST seeks to understand the benefits of entrepreneurial skills training for active ageing and will examine quality of life, resilience and entrepreneurial self-efficacy outcomes for older persons.

The programme kicked off May 14th. Currently, 11 adventurous older individuals will be working on their entrepreneurial skills over the next 11 weeks in the CETB’s training facility in Carrigaline. If successful it is hoped to make such training more widely available and accessible.
