SmARtEST Pilot Programme a Success

SmARtEST Pilot Programme a Success

24 July, 2019

The SmARtEST project completed a very successful pilot programme in conjunction with the Cork Education and Training Board in Carrigaline.

The programme commenced on May 14, 2019 and finished on July 24 with 9 people receiving their Entrepreneurial Skills Certificates from John Fitzgibbons, CETB’s Director of Further Education and Training and Rónán Ó'Caoimh, CETB's Further Education and Training Co-ordinator (South Cork).

The excellent CETB training facilities provided a perfect venue for the Tuesday training sessions for the 11 weeks and we enjoyed access to the computer room to improve some digital skills and gain new ones.

Ita O’Regan, CETB trainer and Sarah Davis, Hincks Centre PhD researcher co-facilitated the group. We could not have been so successful without the support of the Rubicon Business Incubator and our colleagues Paul Healy, George Bulman, Jane Leonard, MaryRose Shannahan and Declan Ryan of Arbutus Bread who volunteered their time and expertise with the group.

At the end of the course, the trainers were surprised with beautiful flowers and cards from the group.

In the words of one of the participants at the concluding celebrations – “May we all fly high, remain in good health and keep in touch.”
