Hincks in the Southern Hemisphere
08 October, 2019
The fruits of many months designing and piloting a short-accredited programme in Entrepreneurship was finalised and ready for the kick-off session in Durban this week.
An international team of expert facilitators from Ireland, UK and South Africa were joined by 50+ students from across South Africa for a week of intense workshops, panel discussions, group work, presentations and, of course, the team building Marshmallow Challenge!
Part of the five-day programme was a ‘Train the Trainer’ workshop with entrepreneurship lecturers from South Africa and Ireland discussing entrepreneurship pedagogy, innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems at third-level.
The project is a collaboration between South African Technological Network (SATN), Cork Institute of Technology and Galway & Mayo Institute of Technology.
The Irish team in Durban were Helen McGuirk (Hincks) George Bulman (Rubicon), Emmett Coffee (CIT lecturer), Michael Shovelin (GMIT lecturer).
