On the 8th March, the MTU International Women's Day Committee 2021 will be hosting MTU EMPOWERING WOMEN 2021 to encourage, inspire and support MTU's female students, staff, alumni, and wider MTU community in celebration of International Women's Day 2021.

The international theme for Women's Day this year is 'Choose to Challenge', celebrating the tremendous efforts made by women locally, nationally and globally to shape a more equal future. The Committee is delighted with this theme, particularly as a core value of MTU is to support, encourage and nurture inclusivity, diversity, and equality within the student, staff, and alumni community. The theme also aligns very well with MTU's Athena SWAN aims and activities.

The Committee are asking you to suggest speakers for the event from our MTU community past and present, or beyond, who you think will contribute significantly to the event and send a strong message of solidarity and support to our female community on our first MTU International Women's Day. As this year's event will be virtual, the net can be cast wider providing the opportunity to engage with guests from across the world.
