This year, most activities across the world migrated to some online platform or other and the Student Inc. 2020 Showcase was no exception.

Student Inc. is Ireland’s first student accelerator programme and has been delivered in CIT since 2011. Running from June to August, the programme is set up to encourage student entrepreneurs to develop and grow their enterprising ideas.

The students receive expert mentoring in the areas of market research, finance, business planning and much more. Each participant receives €4,000 to fund their business to cover expenses, equipment, a wage to offset a summer job, etc. The programme is worth one module of credits.

This is the second year that CIT has partnered with IT Tralee and UCC. In total there were 33 participants from the three institues. The programme kicked-off virtually on June 2nd and on August 26, each participant had the opportunity to showcase what they had achieved over the summer.
