CPEER May Gathering

CPEER May Gathering

21 May, 2021

CPEER - the MTU wide community of practice for entrepreneurship and innovation educators and researchers met this lunch time.

Convened by Lisa Murphy, the online (again!) gathering of colleagues from across the University heard two excellent presentations.

First up was the recently conferred Dr Paul Keane from the Dept of Mechanical Engineering. Paul presented a snap shot of his PhD research - 'Role Model Interventions to Motivate Students to Consider Entrepreneurship as a Career'. Interestingly, his research found that 70% of students indicated the positive influence that role model talks had on their entrepreneurial intent.

The second presentation was from Hugh McCarthy, Dept of Musicianship at Cork School of Music on 'Paths to Creative Inclusion in Higher Education through Partnership'.  The project focuses on providing equal access to education. Good discussions followed on the major issue of funding the Arts and how to link entrepreneurship and innovation to the project.

Thank you to everyone who attended.  Next gathering - September 2021.
