Hincks Presents Green Mentor
16 June, 2021
The Hincks Centre was delighted to accept the invitation to help prepare the 31 Student Inc. 2021 entrepreneurs to make the most of their mentoring opportunities on Tuesday morning, 16th June 2021. Applicants from 6 Higher Education campuses took part with business start-ups from GMIT, UL, LIT, MTU and UCC.
The Hincks Centre's researchers Sarah Davis and Rebecca Robinson, provided a training session designed to prepare the Student Inc. participants to understand the mentoring process. The training materials used were developed as part of the Erasmus+ Green Mentor project that ran from 2015 to 2017. These resources are suitable for mentoring and for greening businesses.
The focus of the presentation was on understanding the mentoring process for the successful applicants on the Student Inc. programme.
The online session addressed what enterprise mentoring is, expectations, the mentoring process, do's and don’ts for mentors and mentees, setting goals and targets and tracking indicators to show a robust mentoring process.
The participants engaged in reviewing the available mentoring tools. These tools are available free-of-charge online to all. Visit green-mentor.
The Hincks Centre wishes the 31 participants every success with the Student Inc. programme and with their future entrepreneurial careers. Thanks to the Rubicon Centre, to Carole O’Leary, Innovation & Enterprise Office, and the Enterprise Interns for the invitation. It was a very enjoyable session.
