Empowering Rural Women

Empowering Rural Women

20 July, 2021

The Hincks Centre for Entrepreneurship Excellence are collaboratively working with Chambre Départemental d'Agriculture de Dordogne, France; Desarrollo de Estrategias Exteriores SA, Spain; Instituto Navarro de Tecnologias e Infraestructuras Agroalimentarias S.A, Spain and Universitat Hohenheim in Germany to create and implement a training and coaching programme designed specifically to support and empower rural women. The training programme is called “Rural Femmes” and is an Erasmus+ KA2 funded project led by Chambre Départemental d'Agriculture de Dordogne from Periguex, France.

This Autumn, the Hincks Centre will run the Rural Femmes course which will provide women, based in rural areas, with the knowledge and skills to identify and investigate ways to do business in rural locations.

The course will consist of 3 modules.

  • The first module will teach participants about organic agriculture, diversification, direct sales and sustainability.
  • The second module will highlight digitalisation, online sales, social media, data protection and online safety.
  • The final module will teach participants about agricultural and non-agricultural entrepreneurship, rural tourism and the development of skills in the areas of presentation and communication.

Further information on Rural Femmes can be found in our European Projects section. If you would like to find out more, please email us at hinckscentre@mtu.ie.
