On Friday, September 10, 2021 the Hincks Centre hosted our first online workshop as part of the Horizon 2020 funded ScreenME-net project. The goal of the workshop was to develop the team's expertise and knowledge in screen media networking and the role of universities in supporting screen media entrepreneurship.

We heard from a nascent networking group looking to encourage an industry hub in Munster. With regards to incubating screen media start-ups, we heard from George Bulman from the Rubicon Centre regarding his experience working with media start-ups. We then got an industry perspective from Daniel Fleming from Aperture Media about his experience contributing to MTU’s Student Inc. programme.

In addition to hearing from some great external speakers, the ScreenME-net team also discussed the project's goals and objectives, including detailed discussions regarding collaboration on papers for a special issue of the Journal Of Media Business studies.
