The Hincks Centre welcomed Research Masters candidate Garrett Buttimer to the Team recently. We wish him all the best and hope he enjoys his time with us and at MTU. Here, Garrett tells us a bit about himself. 

Hello, my name is Garrett Buttimer. I have started a Research Masters in Economics, at MTU, studying the Silver Economy. I am an experienced Economics, Business and Mathematics teacher, State Examinations Commission examiner and corrector with over 20 years teaching in Gaelcholáiste Mhuire A.G. in Cork city. I am head of the Economics and Business subject department in the school. I work for EDCO and Grade Academy; writing course notes and sample examination questions and solutions, making PowerPoints and videos, and designing mind maps.

Married to my Italian wife, with two teenage daughters. I like running, keeping fit, all sports, travelling abroad and trying foreign food.

Very experienced with ICT and educational software programmes. I speak Irish and Italian.
