Enactus MTU Presents ...
02 June, 2022
On Thursday, 2nd of June, Rebecca Robinson - Faculty Adviser for Enactus MTU, travelled to Chartered Accountants House in Dublin for the Enactus Ireland National Competition along with MTU Enactus students and presentation team, Joshua Manaid, Anderson De Paula, Mary-Jo Williams, Emanuela Ionkova and Manish Nair.
Lead by Joshua Manaid, the Enactus MTU student team had the task of presenting their social enterprise idea, project FLY, to a panel of senior executives and CEO’s from multinationals for the chance to represent Ireland at the Enactus World Cup.
Project Fly focuses on delivering financial literacy to second level students in a digestible way using gamification. This year alone, Enactus MTU delivered this course to over 65 students in schools in areas that are considered to be disadvantaged which is an outstanding achievement.
The event in Dublin included faculty advisers from all the competing Universities, Enactus student teams from 7 universities around Ireland, business advisors and judges. The 7 teams that competed on the day were MTU, UCC, TCD, UCD, UL, DCU and TUD. The Enactus MTU Team did MTU proud on the day and all year as they worked so hard to get to this stage. The winning team who were crowned Enactus Ireland Champions 2022 were UCC and will represent Ireland in the Enactus World Cup taking place this year in Peurto Rico on the 30th of October to the 2nd of November. We wish Enactus UCC the best of luck in the competition and some of the Enactus MTU Team will be there to support them, namely Emanuela Ionkova and Alana Neenan, along with Enactus MTU Faculty Adviser, Rebecca Robinson, who all won the KPMG bursary to attend the Enactus World Cup.
We would like to extend a big thank you to Enactus Ireland for a great day and their support all year, to KPMG for the bursary for allowing our MTU students and Faculty Adviser to attend the Enactus World Cup, and to Chartered Accountants House for their hospitality.
