Proud to support community enterprise development, Hincks’ Helen McGuirk facilitated a workshop for the fledgling community enterprise on Oileán Chléire (Cape Clear Island), in West Cork this week.

The Cape Clear Lavender (CCL) initiative is supported by generous philanthropic funding and aims to increase business opportunities for the island population. 

Cape Clear Lavender - First Harvest, 2023

There was a great turn out of island lavender growers, crafters and supporters at the two-hour session, which included:

• Plans for the 2024 Lavender Festival on the Island (12-14th July). 
• Shared ideas on how to use the beautiful lavender harvest.

Some Ideas for Using the Harvest 

• A ‘try and make’ session with the essential oils and dried buds produced on the island from last year’s harvest.

Try and Make Session: copper essential oil still, sample raw materials and packaging.
