The Hincks Centre were delighted to host Heli Hirvonen from Business Joensuu, Finland.

Heli is Lead Partner on the Interreg NPA scoping project EBoost. Heli travelled to Cork and then to Skibbereen to take part in the Hincks Centre’s Target Circular Project public event on March 6th.

Helen McGuirk and Heli met to discuss several tasks related to this year-long project including the survey of people living and working in remote and peripheral areas of Northern Europe.

The focus of EBoost is to develop an evidence-based project proposal for the next NPA call in late 2024. Given the expertise and geographical location of Business Joensuu in Eastern Finland, and MTU in the South-West of Ireland, we are well placed to explore the needs and challenges that depopulation in peripheral regions has on enterprise and on young people.
