Digital Skills Wallet: Developing an ecosystem supported by a digital platform for the acquisition and assessment of digital competence with the use of micro-credentials.

The Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) organised the Opening Ceremony for the new European Erasmus Program "Digital Skills Wallet: Acquiring and Assessing Digital Competence Using micro-credentials" (Project number: 101087628).

The presentation of the project was carried out by Mrs. Maria Knais, General Director of EDITC who coordinates the project, during an event on the topic of digital skills that took place on Monday, April 10, 2023, at the Siakoleio Educational Center, in Nicosia, Cyprus.

As Ms. Knais stated, in a post-Covid era the need for Digital Skills is more urgent than ever. The Digital Skills Wallet project aims to develop an ecosystem supported by an online platform for the acquisition and assessment of digital skills using micro-certificates in the 5 domains of digital skills according to DigComp v2.2.

The idea behind the project is that one should be able to slowly acquire knowledge and skills, evaluate them and be able to project them. The platform will allow learners to assess on 5 digital competency areas, earn micro-credentials, optionally store them in a digital wallet, and further develop their competencies by attending recommended mini-courses that lead to the acquisition and issuance of more micro- credentials in a smooth and logical manner.

The Project Coordinator is EDITC LTD, CYPRUS, with Partners:
