Digital Skills Wallet: Developing an ecosystem supported by a digital platform for the acquisition and assessment of digital competence with the use of micro-credentials.

The Digital Skills Wallet consortium is proud to announce significant progress and updates as it continues its mission to empower individuals with essential digital skills.

Since its inception just over a year ago, the Digital Skills Wallet project has been dedicated to developing an ecosystem for assessing and certifying users' digital skills. Through the utilisation of Micro-Credentials, learners can evaluate their competencies, earn certifications, and conveniently store them in a digital wallet for easy access and sharing.

The recent third Transnational Project Meeting, held in Athens on April 3-4, marked a crucial milestone in the project's journey. Hosted at Dimitra's offices, the meeting provided a platform for the coordinator and partners to review the project's status and discuss the next steps in its development.

Led by the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO, this phase of the project (Work Package 2, “Microcredentials for the 5 Digital Competence Areas”) has focused on developing micro-credentials for the 5 competence areas outlined in the Digital Competence Framework for Citizens (DigComp 2.2). These micro-credentials are organized across 8 levels of digital proficiency, following the European Union's recommendations to member states.

The consortium is pleased to announce the successful completion of the development of all Learning Outcomes and Micro-Credentials. Currently, all partners are in the process of finalising translations into their respective languages, ensuring accessibility across Europe.

During the meeting, fruitful discussions took place regarding the project's future direction and strategies to ensure its success, with a specific focus on the implementation of the online platform. The main objective of the Digital Skills Wallet project is to enable individuals to gradually acquire, evaluate, and project their digital skills, thereby empowering them to thrive in today's digital age.

As the project continues to progress, the consortium looks forward to sharing further updates with stakeholders and the public. The Digital Skills Wallet project remains committed to its goal of empowering individuals with essential digital skills, thereby contributing to a more digitally literate and competitive Europe.
