MTU Entrepreneurship Camps receive recognition @ACEEU TripleE Awards
19 September, 2024
Munster Technological University (MTU) has been recognised for its groundbreaking work in fostering youth entrepreneurship and promoting social inclusion by Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU), which is the only globally-operating quality assurance body with a focus on acknowledging engagement and entrepreneurship of universities.
MTU’s inclusive, community-wide youth entrepreneurship programs have been empowering young people for over a decade and as a result we are proud to announce that both camps which receive funding from the Higher Education Authority of Ireland (HEA) have been named runners up in the ACEEU EDI Community Engagement Initiative of the Year Award for 2024 at the recent event in Lisbon.
Founded in 2012, MTU's entrepreneurial camps have grown exponentially, reaching thousands of students across the region. These camps offer participants a unique opportunity to develop essential skills like digital literacy, communication, and problem-solving while learning about sustainable entrepreneurship and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The camps are designed to be accessible to all students, regardless of their background or location. MTU's commitment to inclusivity is evident in its efforts to eliminate financial, access, and geographical barriers. By partnering with local industries, entrepreneurs, educators, and community groups, the university provides participants with practical experience and mentorship.
One of the key strengths of MTU's entrepreneurial camps is their focus on promoting gender balance and inclusive participation. The university actively works to ensure that all students have equal opportunities to participate and benefit from the program.
Over the years, MTU's entrepreneurial camps have become increasingly popular, reflecting their success in inspiring young people and making a positive impact on their communities. The university's leadership in inclusion has been instrumental in breaking down barriers and promoting equal opportunities for youth.
MTU continues to adapt its entrepreneurial programs, it remains committed to its mission of empowering young people and driving social change. The university's dedication to inclusivity and innovation has made it a leader in youth entrepreneurship education.
A huge congratulations to all MTU staff, entrepreneurs and MTU Student Leaders that make these camps such a success. Your hard work and dedication have made a significant impact on your community and in contributing to winning this award.
