The Hincks Centre at Dogpatch Labs

21 October, 2024

The Hincks Centre were warmly welcomed at Dogpatch Labs, Dublin on October 18th by entrepreneur in residence Hesus Inoma to record material for our ongoing course created in collaboration with THENSA - the Technological Higher Education Network South Africa.

The course delivers cutting edge entrepreneurship training to hundreds of students a year and is accessible to students with just a smart phone. Designed to meet a pressing need during the pandemic when access to computer labs was not possible and many students had no laptop – the course is also designed to have a light data footprint as data is expensive in the country.

Hesus travels regularly to South Africa and works in the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship and Low and Middle Income Countries. In the vaults of the former customs house, Hesus shared with us his insights and gave his reactions to the course and how it can help hundreds more South African students learn important transversal skills, develop entrepreneurial ideas and assess if those ideas should be taken forward.

Also discussed with Hesus was his teams innovative work on AI assistance for entrepreneurial strategy, making AI affordable for those on low incomes in the global south and opportunities and challenges of including an AI agent in the advisor client relationship.

The Hincks are looking forward to further collaboration with Hesus on this and other projects and hope to share clips from the interview in the coming weeks.
