The Hincks’ Helen McGuirk, and the Head of the School of Business Dr Breda Kenny delivered a workshop on the opportunities to learn and share in the workplace.  Focusing on the formal and informal training/learning opportunities available to entrepreneurship educators, the session explored the engagement with the excellent suite of open access courses on offer by Ireland’s National Forum.

The details of the National Forum’s NEAR survey were also discussed in small groups with participants sharing their headline points for the next survey due in 2025.

BACKGROUND TO THE NEAR SURVEY:

• National conversation on assessment in HE in Ireland 2016.
• Funding secured for national network of entrepreneurship educators CEEN (Campus entrepreneurship Enterprise Network) from the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (NF) for the National Entrepreneurship Assessment Review ( NEAR) research.
• Follow up workshops and informed NF reports, resources and subsequent Entrepreneurship Educators Digital badge with a specific unit of assessment in EE.
•  Fast forward to 2020 – second round (NEAR2) of funding secured to conduct the review a second time.
•  

NEAR 3 will seek to answer:

• What are entrepreneurship educators assessing?
• How are they assessing entrepreneurial learning?
• How has assessment practice evolved in the timeframe of the research?
• Other areas and challenges.
