TALENT4S3 Regional Stakeholder Meeting

TALENT4S3 Regional Stakeholder Meeting

13 March, 2025

The Hincks Centre are delighted to work with the Southern Regional Assembly, as Associate Partners on their Interreg Europe TALENT4S3 project.

This week Helen McGuirk from the Hincks was invited to present her work on the Senior Economy at the stakeholder meeting, held in Cork City.

The focus of Helen’s presentation was on the opportunities for the region arising from an ageing population and how policy can support older people to age well in their own communities.  You can learn more about the Hincks Centre's work in the Senior Economy here and here.

The meeting also heard from associate partners from across the Southern Region.  Jim Wylie, National Sales Director, Manpower Group presented some though provoking statistics on the talent shortage across Ireland and the Southern Region.  Thanks to Dr Rhiannon Carey Bates from the Southern Regional Assembly for hosting the event.

More information on the Project:

TALENT4S3 – Retention and attraction of TALENT for a better deployment of Smart Specialisation Strategies – addresses one of the most pressing challenges in the European Union: brain drain and regional depopulation. The goal is to foster an environment where talented individuals choose to stay and contribute to their local economies rather than move due to lack of opportunities.
