Facilitating a great session on the Hincks’ Strategy Mapping, Dr Niall O’Leary had the students captivated.

Part of Hincks’ work is the design and delivery of education modules.  The NQF level 9 module ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship’ for PhD and Masters students from across MTU, is designed and delivered by Dr Breda Kenny and Dr Helen McGuirk.  An innovative approach, the shared learning environment allows learners, on successful completion of the module, to understand how to:

  • Assess the economic and social benefits and supports for successful entrepreneurship for individuals, society and the economy.
  • Evaluate the relationship between creativity, invention and innovation in research.
  • Describe and distinguish the entrepreneurial process.
  • Describe and discuss the range of skills, abilities, experiences and personal qualities that successful entrepreneurs have and bring to their work in both the public and private sectors.
  • Evaluate entrepreneurship as a career path.

The module delivered in Semester 2, invite researchers, entrepreneurs and others to speak to the highly motivated group of students, as well as providing opportunities to learn from each other.  Thanks to Dr Niall O’Leary for facilitating a session on his cutting-edge research on Strategy Mapping, used by entrepreneurs and business advisors to identify their goals and path/actions for success.
