What has The Snapper, Forrest Gump and the Hincks Centre have in common???

The annual MTU charity event 2025! We are very proud of our colleagues who took part in the Oscars @ MTU, from across the University and especially Lish and Brenda.

The extraordinary performance by Lish Seoigh, Project Officer at Hincks in the adaptation of the 1993 film The Snapper. Lish plays the role of Kay Curley appearing alongside Philip O’Reilly (Dessie Curley) and Marian Lee (Sharon Curley), to mention but a few, with a special appearance by Prof. Maggie Cusack as the bartender. The Snapper won the ‘Oscar’ for Best Costume.

Brenda Lynch, also part of the Hincks team, was production lead for Forrest Gump, and part of the production team for The Snapper. Brenda also made a cameo appearance in phenomenal production of Forrest Gump.  

The 600 strong audience were treated to an evening of excitement and excellent acting & production by nearly 60 staff members. The event was in aid of the locally based charity, Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland (AADI) and raised an incredible €43,134.96.
