The DigitalSkillsWallet consortium is pleased to share significant progress in its mission to empower individuals with the essential digital skills needed for today’s world.

Since its launch, the project has focused on developing a comprehensive ecosystem for assessing, certifying, and validating digital skills. At the heart of this effort are Micro-Credentials—digital certifications that allow learners to assess their competencies, earn recognition, and securely store their achievements in a digital wallet for easy access and sharing.

A core feature of the DigitalSkillsWallet platform is its skills assessment system, which measures a learner’s knowledge through structured testing. Each micro-credential includes an assessment of at least 20 questions, with a passing threshold set at 75%.

To date, the consortium has developed 1,668 assessment questions across 59 micro-credentials within Competence Area 1, Information and Data Literacy. These cover key digital skills, including:
Browsing, searching, and filtering data, information, and digital content
Evaluating data, information, and digital content
Managing data, information, and digital content

All questions were created using the platform’s authoring tool, and have been translated into Greek, Italian, and Romanian to ensure accessibility across partner countries.

In parallel, the consortium is developing 130 short, interactive courses in four languages. Once finalized, these will undergo pilot testing to validate both the quality and the reliability of the platform.

Looking ahead, the DigitalSkillsWallet project remains committed to its vision: empowering individuals with the digital skills they need to succeed, while strengthening Europe’s competitiveness and digital literacy. The consortium looks forward to sharing further updates as the project advances.
