Thanks to funding from the MTU Innovation and Enterprise Office, we are delighted to bring you a two-hour workshop on LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® (LSP) for Educators in both MTU Kerry North Campus and MTU Cork Bishopstown Campus, where we will be bringing fun into serious business!

Through a facilitated workshop, educators will learn the power of LSP. Our expert team of LSP Facilitators in MTU Kerry and MTU Cork will run a two-hour, in-person workshop on Friday the 8th of March from 2pm - 4pm. Each participant will be provided with their own LSP starter kit that they can take away with them.

If you are an educator looking for ways to build better and more diverse learning experiences in the classroom, the LSP workshop will provide you with a toolkit in order to do so. This is where practice meets pedagogy. It explores insights into the challenges of communicating teachings through:

• building physical models;
• participating in peer-coaching;
• self-reflection;
• skills development and
• action planning -

- resulting in a positive addition to an educator's toolkit. In-class LSP sessions can be tailored to best meet pedagogical objectives.

As we know, we all learn in different ways. LSP particularly benefits kinaesthetic learners who need to be actively engaged in their education. These students are 'tactile' learners, who use movement, testing, trial and error and a non-traditional learning environment to retain and recall information. This style of learning is easy to incorporate into teachings and studies have shown students who engage in this type of learning are more engaged, show a better understanding of the topic, are more communicative and more solution oriented as well as increasing academic achievement in many instances.

We have 24 places available in total - a maximum of 12 places in Bishopstown Campus and a maximum of 12 places available in North Campus.
